Les & Di

Les & Di

Les and Diana Morris ~ We are simply ordinary people who continue to follow hard after God, which we have been doing since 1971, when we came to know Jesus.  We have 4 adult children ranging in age from 39 to 29, who are all married to wonderful people, whom we are happy to also call “sons” and “daughters.”  And we are the proud grandparents of 9 grandchildren to date and expect more to come!

God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit have been the center of our lives since we came to know Jesus.  We were married in 1973 and embraced the Bible verse Joshua 14:15, where he said:  “But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”  Sometimes we have done a better job of this than others, but He continues to be our passion. And so, if He says “Go,” (& He did), we want to say, “Here am I, send me! (& we did).

We are avid readers, both to study God’s word and grow in understanding of who and what He has called us to do and be.  We also love to read adventures, science fiction, fantasy and even history for relaxation.  Sprinkle all of that with biographies and you’ll see that we really do enjoy reading.  Nevertheless, in order to follow God’s call to Costa Rica, we gave away over a thousand books and we each moved (courtesy of wonderful gifts from our children) to a Kindle!

Worship has been a central theme in our lives – after all, we’ll be doing that for eternity!  Les sings, plays guitar and bass (both stand up and electric), as well as a little keyboard, while Diana plays guitar and sings.  She’s also a piano player (not keyboard!) and loves classical piano.

Following are some favorite quotes, and a video.  Each is a tiny snippet that expresses or hearts – but even more that which we strive towards.

“He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain that which he cannot lose.” ~ Jim Elliot

“I will not waste my life! I will finish my course and finish it well. I will display the Gospel of the grace of God in all I do. I will run my race to the end.” ~ Paul

It was becoming clearer and clearer that if I wanted to come to the end of my life and not say, “I’ve wasted it!” then I would need to press all the way in, and all the way up, to the ultimate purpose of God and join him in it. If my life was to have a single, all-satisfying, unifying passion, it would have to be God’s passion.” ~ John Piper (Don’t Waste Your Life)
